Pack Raingutter Regatta Pack Meeting & Tournament 21 September 2010 
Pack 287 kicked off the new school year with the ever-popular Raingutter Regatta. After a brief opening and awards ceremony, we got down to the business of racing boats,
with all 20 boys entering.
The races were set up as a round robin tournament organized by rank. The judges selected a number of boats for design awards during the indoor part of the pack meeting. After the cubs scouts compared boats and made last minute adjustments, we got started. 
During the competition, the boys learned some lessons on how to make their boat race better. Some had sails that spun around, some had boats that tipped over easily, some learned how to point their straws toward the bottom of the sail. All were eager to use the improvements and race again. 
After all the round robin races were complete, the winners of each rank competed against each other in a single elimination format to determine a pack champion. In an upset, the Tigers defeated the Wolves. But at the end of the day the Webelos (not unexpectedly) made off with the title.
