PNG Homecoming Parade & Flag Ceremony

Once again in 2009, the boys of Pack 287 got to participate in the PNG Homecoming Parade Friday night, and the Star Spangled Banner Saturday before the football game! Cris Boucher made arrangements with the school for this very popular activity. This year we invited the boys from Groves Pack 86 (with whom we may merge) to participate with us.

Friday night, eight boys gathered to ride in a trailer decked out with indian spirit. Even more boys, eleven from Pack 287 and five from Pack 86, met at the newly renovated Reservation before the Homecoming Game against the Vidor Pirates. While the football teams warmed up, we gathered at the flagpole with the Criminal Justice Club high school students. They raised the U.S. flag while we saluted and led the entire stadium in singing the Star Spangled Banner.

After that, boys who had tickets were able to stay and watch the game as PNG whupped Vidor 35 to 13!
