Governor Rick Perry has written the book "On My Honor: Why the American Values of the Boy Scouts are Worth Fighting For." He came to visit the Three Rivers Council area for a book signing, and offered to give away a free copy of the autographed book to the first 100 scouts who showed up in uniform at the Barnes & Noble on Dowlen.

Naturally, Pack 287 boys were represented among the eager scouts who lined up to meet the Governor and receive a copy of the book. Not only did they get to shake hands with the Governor, but they would have gotten on the news, except that a malfunction in the broadcast van prevented it.
